Liwliwa is not a white-sand postcard. This sand is volcanic — dark, fine, and it holds the day’s heat long after the sun has gone. It is why nobody goes inside at six, and why the evenings here work the way they do.

What the sea is doing
Liwliwa is warm the whole year. The curve is the air temperature hour by hour from now, so an early start or a late swim can be planned around it.
Sea surface temperature offshore. It barely moves across a day here — the West Philippine Sea sits in the high twenties all year, which is why nobody at Liwliwa owns a wetsuit.
Wave height offshore, hour by hour. At the biggest it reads: Fun little waves. Waves here are usually best early, before the afternoon wind gets into them.
Seconds between one wave and the next. Longer means the swell has travelled and arrives in orderly lines; shorter means it was made by local wind and comes in choppy.
Wind speed at the resort. The calmest hours are usually around dawn, which is also when the sea is at its cleanest.

Low tide opens the whole beach — a wide flat of firm sand you can walk right along, and the calmest water for a swim. These are heights above AVERAGE sea level rather than depths, so a 0.0 m low does not mean no water; it means the sea is sitting at its usual middle.

Most resorts end their day at dinner. Ours starts a second one — a fire pit in the sand, strangers who arrived separately, and the part of the trip people actually tell their friends about.

Everything here felt so peaceful, like the world slowed down for a while. The food was amazing, but what made this place unforgettable were the people. Good food, genuine souls, and the most beautiful sunset by the beach.

As in andito na lahat ng needs mo — all you need to bring is yourself. Masasarap foods nila, sobrang linis ng place. The staff is also mababait lalo na sa reception area. Me and my fam will definitely go back here!
